Hi everyone,
I've been going through some challenging times, I hurt my back somehow, and it's really painful to do anything. -_-
Getting dressed is difficult, going to the bathroom, even sitting at my computer hurts.
I hope it will pass soon, I've been quite immobile for almost a whole week now!
On the flip side, we will be adopting a cat soon!
We named him Merlin lava-wizard kitty-cat.
How we met Merlin was chance, or maybe fate~
About a month ago we were walking home from the train station after a night in the city.
It was really late, almost 1am, it was really cold, and drizzling with rain, we were rugged up and speed-walking to get back home quickly.
Suddenly on the path ahead we see a small grey and white cat, it's right near a main road, all alone in the rain.
As we approach, the kitty spots us and comes running to greet us, he seems so grateful that someone showed up.
He circled, and purred and hid under us from the rain, he even started climbing up into my lap, it was clear he needed some help.
I scooped him up, and we took him home for the night to keep him safe until morning.
The next day we went door-knocking where we had found him, but oddly, not one person answered their door... :/
We decided to take him to a local shelter. He was not de-sexed, and had no microchip, so the shelter held him to see if the owner would come forward.
I have called several times to check on him, he had a slight cold, and mild conjunctivitis, but otherwise he was in good health.
He is much better now, and about to get de-sexed, and after that we are adopting him!
Merlin is such a sweet boy that I couldn't let him go, I kept thinking of how we met, and how kind-natured he is.
So in a week or two we will have another fluffy family member on board. : )
We're actually not allowed to have a cat with the people we live with, but we want to move out anyway, so we're working on that.
Here are some (low quality) pictures of Merlin -
Isn't he adorable~
More recently when I was walking the dogs, I noticed the house right near where we found Merlin was for lease,
so I suspect the people who owned him had to move, and left him behind, which sadly happens a lot in this area.
Thankfully, other than my back, I am healthy.
I hope everyone is keeping safe with the covid-19 virus spreading.
Let me know what's been going on with you~
